Q pasa cómo stamos, compañeros ñeras?

Aunq hay muchos de vosotros que ya conocéis este blog, os cuento un pokito para quien todavía no.

“Nobody is more intelligent than all of us together” que es como se llama, lo creé el año pasao para echar un cable a los compañeros del curso de acceso para mayores de 25 años, que estaban un poco pegaos con el inglés, después de tantos años sin estudiar : ) La cosa resultó y tanto en el Campus Cádiz como en Jerez se utilizó mucho y funcionó bastante bien.

Así que he pensao q sería buena idea seguir utlizándolo, pero ésta vez para los futuros peasso d filologos en los q todos nos vamos a convertir!! : )

Y esa es la idea, q Todos lo consigamos y Todos ayudemos.

Aki es donde tenéis que dejar vuestras direcciones de correo todos los que estéis interesados en recibir los apuntes de Literatura y de Mitología Clásica, que son los apuntes que hemos compartido hasta la fecha.

Simplemente comentad esta nota y apuntad vuestros mails. (Sólo los veré yo, no aparecerán publicados). Yo os incluiré en una lista y todos los apuntes que la gente vaya actualizando se os mandarán. La idea es ampliar hasta conseguir entre todos, los apuntes de todas las asignaturas.

Como suponéis no es sólo recibir apuntes, sino colaborar entre todos, para que a nadie le falte un solo día de una sola asignatura, y todos tengamos los apuntes lo más completos posible, con la ayuda y la aportación de todos.

LA VOZ PASIVA

LA VOZ PASIVA ES MUY FRECUENTE EN INGLES.

SE UTILIZA PARA INDICAR QUE LA ACCION O LA PERSONA O COSA Q RECIBE LA ACCION ES MAS RELEVANTE QUE EL SUJETO QUE LA REALIZA, BIEN XQ ESTE ES DESCONOCIDO, POCO IMPORTANTE O NO SE QUIERE NOMBRAR.

TAMBIEN se suele usar la pasiva cuando el sujeto de la activa es they, nobody, somebody, etc…

They made the story into a film/ the story was made into a film.

They carried out AIDS research/ AIDS research was carried out.

AFIRMATIVA algunas reglas :

1. Se forma con el to be + el participio del verbo principal. The scene was filmed in France.

2. Al pasar una frase de activa a pasiva se pone el to be en el mismo tiempo q tenia el verbo principal en activa.

Doctors help patients / Patients are helped by doctors.

3. Si se nombra al sujeto de la activa, se pasa a pasiva como complemento agente precedido de la preposicion by.

The film rights were bought by the airline.

4. Si dicho sujeto es un pronombre personal, al pasarla a pasiva pasa a ser pronombre objeto, (me,u,him,her ,it ,us,u,them) tambien precidido de by.

They will overcome any difficult situation./Any difficult situation will be overcome by them.

5. Si la oracion activa tiene CD o CI, los2 pueden ser sujetos de la pasiva, siende el caso del CI mas frecuente y exclusivo del ingles.

New discoveries give hope to sick people

Hope is given to sick people by new discoveries

Sick people are given hope by new discoveries.

6. Si dicho CI es un pronombre, hay q usar la forma de sujeto para pasar a pasiva.

The doctor gave me some pills/ I was given some pills by the doctor.

7. Con los modales have to y be going to +infinitivo, es el infinitivo q va detras el q se pone en pasiva (be+participio).

Laughter can reduce blood pressure./Blood pressure can be reduced by laughter.

The doctor had to heal Dan./Dan had to be healed by the doctor.

They are going to translate the film./ The film is goint to be translated.

NEGATIVA

Solo hay q añadir not o su contraccion al verbo to be.

INTERROGATIVA

El orden es to be +sujeto+ participio. Is Atkinson considered a funny actor?
Notese cuando hay particulas interrogativas: When was the research published?/ How was chosen as leading actor?

EL ESTILO INDIRECTO

EL ESTILO INDIRECTO LO UTILIZAMOS PARA CITAR NOSOTROS ALGO QUE HA DICHO OTRA PERSONA.

ED = Ana dijo : « Me gusta el deporte » EI = Ana dijo que le gustaba el deporte.

DIFERENTES TIPOS DE ORACIONES :

REPORTED STATEMENTS (DECLARATIVAS, + o -)

Podemos contar en presente lo que alguien acaba de decir sin hacer ningun cambio (excepto suprimir comillas y cambiar pronombres segun corresponda).

I attend music lessons / Shes says that she attends music lessons.

Cuando la frase en EI enuncia una verdad general, no hay cambios en el verbo:

English is spoken in Australia/ She said that English is spoken in Australia.

LO NORMAL, sin embargo, es hacer el EI, contando en pasado lo que dijo otra persona :

“My students ask me many questions”, he said/ He said (that) his students asked him many questions

El verbo que introducude el estilo indirect (said) va en pasado, y el de la oracion subordinada va segun la ss. tabla :

UN TRUCO MUY EFECTIVO ES HACERLAS PRIMERO EN ESPAÑOL Y LUEGO TRADUCIRLAS AL INGLES, XQ COINCIDEN PERFECTAMENTE.

REPORTED QUESTIONS ( 2 TIPOS : YES/NO QUESTIONS Y WH-QUESTIONS)

Las preguntas cerradas o yes/no questions son las q solo se pueden contestar con un si o un no.

«Does the lesson start al 11.00 ?” she asked/ She asked if/whether the lesson started at 11.00

“Is Paul Irish?” he asked me./ He asked me if/whether Paul was Irish.

Como la frase ya no es pregunta, ni hay comillas ni ? ni inversion sujeto-verbo.

Las preguntas abiertas, o Wh-questions no se pueden contestar con un si o un no. Comienzan con una particula interrogativa ( what, who,where,when,why,whose,how, etc) y al pasarlas a EI mantienen esta particular al principio. Luego va sujeto y verbo y no hay ? ni “…”.

“Where is the gym?” the girl asked./ the girl asked where the gym was.

“How can students improve their marks?” he asked./ He asked how students could improve…

REPORTED ORDERS (IMPERATIVAS, + o – )

Al pasar de ED a EI se cambia el imperative por un infinitive. Se usa tell o order, ya que expresan mandato, seguido del CI. Es el unico caso que las traducciones no coinciden a la perfeccion.

“Keep quiet”/ The teacher told us to keep quiet.

“Don’t forget your keys”/ She reminded me not to forget my keys.

SUGGESTIONS

“Let’s take the bus”/ He suggested that we take the bus. Usando that, con su sujeto y verbo normal.

“Let’s start tomorrow”/ She suggested starting tomorrow. Usando -ing, sin especificar sujeto.

Las referencias temporales, y espaciales son muy importantes para terminar de “dar sentido” a la frase al pasarla al EI. Now /Then; Today/ That day; Yesterday/The other day; Last week/ the other week; Tomorrow/ The next day or the following day; Here/There; This/ That; These/ Those.

LA REDACCION DE INGLES ESPECIFICO

Dedicated to MERCHI, por crear ese foro tan util para prepararnos el acceso.

Hay que tener en cuenta que en la tercera parte del examen de ingles especifico (production) lo unico que te piden es una redaccion de aproximadamente 100 palabras.

Asi que nos hace falta un buen “mapa” para tener claro las frases principales que no debemos olvidar y que nos van a ayudar a comenzar las frases de la redaccion y llegar rapidamente a las 100 palabras que nos piden.

Un ejemplo sencillo de “mapa” seria algo asi como:

ARGUMENTACION
CONCLUSION

Veamos algunos ejemplos. Las frases subrayadas son las frases que os decia antes y el resto son sòlo un ejemplo para que le veais la forma de como quedarìa.

“La importancia de leer”/ ” The importance of reading”

PRESENTACION

In this written exercise I am going to talk about …the importance of reading.

Otra forma seria: I would like to take advantage of the opportunity that I have today with this written exercise to talk about…

ARGUMENTACION

What can we do to find a solution for this problem? What can we do about it? (Son preguntas retòricas q podemos “colar” en casi cualquier redacciòn)

From my personal point of view…there are a lot of reasons to say that reading is really important in these days, and I also think that …

The first one is…. blah blah blah.

The second one is…. blah blah blah.

At last… it develops our imagination, we adquire culture, to gain knowledge for example.

On the other hand, and to be honest about it, I would like to say that… blah blah blah.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion and as a final summary i would like to… encourage everybody to read as much as possible.

Otra serìa: Finally, and as a personal conclusion, I would not like to forget…
